Can't say for sure what the majority of fans feel, but normally we're just generally happy people are coming in... But i'm not really impressed. Have far too many strikers, and due to the sheer number, they don't get regular games and so under perform. Even so, our attacking wasn't too bad last season. Our defensive record was appalling. King was out a lot, but even so, 1 player shouldn't have to make that much difference. They mone would be a lot better spent bulking up our defence. We've bough Garetht Bale, but not sure its enough.
Bent's not bad, but vastly over-priced. but the money needs to be spent in defense and defensive-midfield I think.

West Ham are expected to announce the signing of Julien Faubert on Monday after Bordeaux accepted an offer for the France international who had been interesting Rangers.
Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud again refused to name the team who had outbid Rangers, but Faubert's agent has confirmed it is West Ham who have secured a deal for the 23-year-old.

I am not sure that I have heard of him

Seems like Beckham could have company in LA
David Beckham's new side LA Galaxy want Dec out of And and Dec to attend trials after the Geordie TV legend impressed chiefs with his finishing during a kickabout with Robbie Williams. (Daily Star)
Seriously if they want their league to be known as anything other than Mickey Mouse they need to cut crap like this out

Perhaps they could also hire him for the start of boxing matches.

What as a punchbag, if so I think it's a fantastic idea

No joke, these days it's as if papers like the Star and Mirror just make the sports stuff up
And the rest of their reports for that matter

Will Alan Smith be sold ? ..........

Alan Smith claims he wants to stay with United and spare the club another dip into the summer transfer market.
The firebrand forward, signed from Leeds in 2004, has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs all summer, while United have supposedly eyed a host of potential new strikers.

No new contract yet, so it's looking likely, but who knows

Whoops !!!!

Ken Bates' proposed buyback of Leeds United is to be challenged by HM Revenue & Customs.
The announcement comes a day after the news that the administrators at the football club had persuaded Mr Bates to raise his offer to creditors.

And I thought he was home and dry.

One for Gavin.........
Portsmouth Football Club are set to make an offer for Jermain Defoe.

Despite the England international revealing he wants to stay and fight for his place in the Tottenham Hotspur side, Harry Redknapp has made no secret of his desire to bring him to Fratton Park.

Not sure of their source of info though

Re: Close Season Gossip & Rumour Thread
I was just reading the Tevez one too. So Utd will have spent about 50million this coming season, hope all those Utd supporters who moaned about Chelsea buying the premiership eat a huge slice of Humble pie!
