Re: Reform UK's chronicles
So they’ve got £72m? Perhaps they should put it towards bailing out Reform-led Durham Council. They’re only £83m in debt after their making such a mess of council finances.

Re: Reform UK's chronicles
It's not going to be good for any of us if our politics moves closer to the US, where all the parties are funded by the wealthiest people in society.
The person who has hundreds of millions of pounds is going to have different interests and different goals than those who do not have millions of pounds.

I hope you do not think the wheels of power are not lubricated by the wealthy already? Figureheads are puppets for the 1%

Re: Reform UK's chronicles
I think the UK's 'wheels of power' got a puncture many years ago, and although a majority voted for the repair kit it was only applied in a half hearted way

The UK is nowhere near as bad as the US. We have so many rules about political spending, and only one media market, that you can't just buy elections here.
Even Reform's millions will be difficult to spend in formats other than social media.
Of course, if they're elected, they'll change that.

By the time that happens, the £72 million could be worth as much as . . . £827.84 in real money

all the wealthy know which coins to invest in
Projected value of bitcoin for example. If you invest £1 in bitcoin now by 2030 it is projected to be worth £2.40

Yeah that is the investment risk but those who "Hedge" their bets and follow the patterns know it is all manipulated
