Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
anyone see the City and Charlton game at the weekend ?
After scoring Barton had the cheek to grab the badge on his shirt as if he cares anything about City.. the only time i believe it when a player does that is Gerrard or Neville the rest of the time it's just all false and put on

Yeah, Gerrard only stayed at liverpool cause he was, allegedly, scared of his family getting beaten up by thugs seeking retribution for his move (if it had happened).

I'd heard something like too, apparently he was visited by the 'Liverpool Mafia'.

never knew that but you can't deny that he and Carragher put their heart and soul into Liverpool when they play.. if they have a bad game then the whole team does..
Gerrard is still liverpool through and through and it's thanks to him they won the European Cup without him they would have gone out way earlier.. it's had to blame him for wanting to leave and he is so much better than the rest of the squad and a player of his standard should be playing in a world class squad
***
to save clogging up the thread have sent Akane a PM with the fixture list

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
Just read this, how on earth could you not tell someone?
How come his family weren't able to get in touch?
Quote:
But most shocking was the Congolese authorities' decision not to tell Lomana LuaLua that his 18-month-old son had died of a mystery illness. Callously, having kept it a secret for two weeks, they even allowed him to speak about his son and his other two children to an African newspaper when the boy was already dead. The Portsmouth striker was finally informed at the end of Congo's 4-1 quarter-final defeat by Egypt.

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
Just catching up on some weekend match video, one question, how can Liverpools keeper get sent off for a gentle placing of his hand on his opponents face, Everton's keeper get sent off for a moments lapse, a simple mental abberation, with no direct threat on goal, yet Arsenal's keeper , fouls someone, dives and feigns injury then instantly jumps back to his feet, then using both hands, shoves his opponent to the ground and no action whatsoever is taken.
