"Liberty Global doesn’t see Virgin Media as a “turnaround” story and wants to “build scale” rather than change, Chief Executive Officer Mike Fries said last month. It doesn’t plan to compete over sports rights or production, and it’s in talks to add streaming services like Netflix Inc. (NFLX) and Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN)’s Lovefilm to the platform, as more TV viewers sign up to the paid services, which are mostly archives of TV and film.
“The content disadvantage Virgin has is they don’t even really make a lot of money now by reselling content from others,” said Stuart Gordon, a media analyst at Berenberg Bank in London. “But they are competing very happily as being the fiber option in the U.K.”

Yes both of them would be nice.

All platforms barring the CRB are now down to one red button stream.
So I'd expect the BBC are doing the extra Summer content in the same way as the Olympics i.e. temp channels rather than hidden red button streams.

This I did not know, kind of makes connected red button seem more appealing haha

More than likely this is in prep for Wimbledon. At least it makes the streams recordable on Virgin's PVR's.

Yes it was very annoying to a number of people who wanted to record NFL Monday night football on red button last season.

Was added by 1am last night.
Channel 991 is broadcasting the same steam as Freeview Channel 301.
Channel 994 is broadcasting the same steam as Freeview Channel 303 (I think).
I think the following may happen:
A) An Extra Red Button steam will be added to Channel 992 soon.
B) As the HD Red Button Channel is just for this summer maybe BBC HD will relaunch later this year,
Why did Virgin put BBC Red Button on Channels 991 to 994 for when Channels 183 to 186 is free?
Do that mean that more channels from Viacom will launch on Virgin before the end of Summer???
THIS POST IS NOT THE VIEWS OF VIRGIN MEDIA IN ANYWAY.

I'm guessing because they are designed to be accessed through the Red Button, rather than channels in their own right - so really it doesn't matter where they go and VM would prefer they are out the way of anything else

In my opinion all we need now is:
Universal HD
Sky Atlantic SD/HD
Premier Sports
confirmation about BT Sport
