BT has far more money than Sky Dave however their core business has always been Broadband and landline , strengthening the TV side helps them promote triple play and increase fibre penetration.

Indeed, but it does appear to be the direction they are taking...

With their current reputation as it is, I think the regulators would have something to say about that.

New Corp market value is between $60 to $80 billion MM and BT has a market capitalisation of approximately £15 billion.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 1.
Can anyone tell WHAT MOVIE channels are available on VM.
I know PICTUREBOX, SKY MOVIES, i was under the impression that there were more channels ie MGM, FILMFLEX and others similar.
Any ideas.

Yes, but we do not pay 'extra'. We pay for the package, and that's it.
I understand the point you are making, it's all down to presentation. But VM are still correct in saying that they do not charge 'extra' for HD.

Perhaps they are just copying Sky. Sky use sports content to get additional subscribers (exclusive HD channels such as Sky Sports HD 3 / 4 / F1). It has worked for Sky...

Bt's stated plan was to out bid Sky for Premier League rights. They fell short and ended up paying over the odds for the lesser package of rights. They're already well on plan b with this.

Filmflex is now known as Virgin Movies. Picturebox and Virgin Movies can be found in the On Demand section. The Sky Movies and other movie channels are listed in the 400 range on your EPG.
MGM HD is a joint partnership between Sky and MGM, only available on Sky.

As I said, they could have done that years ago without needing to start their own platform. Sky & BT paying out ever increasing sums to outbid each other is only going to mean higher prices for the consumer. It might be a good time to cancel sports channel subs for a while and help bring this madness to an end.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 1.
Many thanks for that, Yes l do have an EPG, but l didn't know that Filmflex was now Virgin Movies.
I go On Demand quite a lot, but l always thought that VM had quite a lot of 'movie choice' If l am not wrong didn't they also used to have Warner Brothers as well.

Warner TV is listed under channels in the on demand section. It's TV shows made by Warner rather than movies.

NewsCorp effectively buying the entire national telco network would never get past the regulator let alone the government, don't delude yourself.
