Oh I see.
Here is what I get when checking my post code:
Virgin are pretty much telling me here that I'm on 120mb and should be enjoying double speeds. I'm finding it difficult to actually prove exactly what I do have at the moment. Might give Virgin a call tomorrow to see what they say.

According to BT I'm on 72mb down and 5mb up, which is very similar to what I got on Speedtest.net

That is what a lot of people's postcode brings up but virgin have been doing it somewhat prematurely with not yet increasing uploads in line with the downloads and have not yet officially began their 120 rollout. Thats the only reason we ask because if you are on 120 you would be one of the first in the country. If you check your superhub with the 192.168.1.1 link above and it says 111000000 bps you are on 100, if its something along the lines of 120000000 bps or 133000000 bps then your on 120.

If your superhub is in modem mode it would be http://192.168.100.1/VmRouterStatus_configuration.asp or your superhub may have a different ip.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
Brilliant Jayster, thanks for the help and info.
Why do I even bother to trust what Virgin tell me anymore?

Know how you feel. When I upgraded to the VIP Collection in April I was given the impression I would be on 120Mb within 2 months. 4 months later it would appear I've still not been upgraded. I wonder if Virgin can push the upgrade through before my 12 month contract ends in April 2013?
I wonder where I stand? Virgin are telling me I've been upgraded to 120Mb which sadly doesn't appear to be true.

Out of interest, what happens when you click on the link that says 'check now' in regards to the modem?

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
Hmm, by the looks of things then they've added the 120Mbit stuff into My VM a bit too early for the schedule checker.

The link worked for me today. It says 111000000 bps so looks like I'm still on 100Mb

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
so there you have it; you have got the best, so rest assured that there are no other routers in the world that can live up to the unbreatable performance of the shub.

That's not what it's saying.
The check is in regards to other Virgin Media kit that has been supplied. Only the SuperHub as a complete kit package is capable of 120Mbit
And before you start, please be aware I'm talking about kit as supplied by Virgin Media. The routers supplied by VM with the VMNG300 are not capable of 120Mbit as they only have 100Mbit Ethernet ports

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
I am so glad you clarified that however if VM are only running tests to identify which modem the customer has got surely they cant say my modem is not "the best" because they dont know what router is attached to it. My VMNG 300 is going to do just as well on 120mbit as the shub. VM have never supplied with a stand alone router, especially one with 100mbit ports, so they cant mark me down for that.

All VMNG300 modems should have been supplied with a router (either a Netgear WNR2000 or the D-Link DIR-615) - unless the customer chose not to take it or use it.
But I really really don't want to go around the whole SuperHub v VMNG300 modem argument yet again.
