Re: ntl & Telewest Merger Announcement
Providing NTL do not decide to postpone their current commitments with broadband so that they can concentrate on the merger, then the next couple of years is something for us all to look forward to. This applies to Customers and Staff whether they be NTL or Telewest.

Like i said to iggy in msn before he left
Why worry about it. It will be 6 months maybe before changes happen. I got more stuff to worry about the a cable company taking over another next year

Can't agree there, although ntl bought CoCo, in many, many areas it was as if CoCo had bought ntl.
With CoCo managers taking all the positions, and then of course favouring the old CoCo employees.

Re: ntl & Telewest Merger Announcement
I wonder what will happen to Telewest UK callcentres these guys and Gals must be worried that NTL will ship their jobs offshore.. Infact they should open them up to all NTL customers and ease up with the Offshore centre.

Please don't bring the offshore callcentres into this, your opinion of it is very well known.
If it makes you feel better about it all though the current trend is repatriating the jobs at the moment.
Remember though that NTL have outsourced so it's not really up to them where the centres are until this contract is up or they are in a position to buy it out.
Again though won't be seeing any fallout from this for a good 6 months.

Re: ntl & Telewest Merger Announcement
the merger is excellent news as we will see even more moaning about what telewest customers get which ntl customers dont! and how as a combined company how ntl should give their customers what telewest areas get etc etc.
but seriously, it will be good in the long run as there will be benefits in having 1 large company.

Re: ntl & Telewest Merger Announcement
Can we get the title changed? Ntl have bought Telewest, not merged with them.

Will you stop saying that NTL customer service is off shore. IT IS NOT only tech support.

I'm not surprised - it hardly does anything for my confidence in TW thinking our call centre is going to be bumped overseas. I have already closed/transferred several utilities where the call centres have been outsourced offshore and sincerely hope that the TW service doesn't go down the pan when it gets merged with NThell.

Re: ntl & Telewest Merger Announcement
Would we as NTL or as Telewest customers see any difference in service and I think that is 1 of the main questions for all..

How can you say "ONLY" when that's a huge part of an important service? If I need to call my ISP I would expect them to understand the complaint by the words I use, not by whether or not it fits with the script that someone has provided with limited english on.
At least when I call TW tech support I speak to someone who is in the UK and is capable of interpreting whatever script they are given to meet the needs of the conversation. Long may this continue!!
