Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
If the increase is to cover BTSport, why isn't it an add along with SkySports?? Not being a footie fan, I don't watch either, but at least I am not charged for SkySports.

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
We were advised that the price increase was to cover BT Sport. See in the end we are paying the cost of the FREE pacakge.
We were also told that NETFLEX was going to be included, but have been told further that this will cost £5.00 per month after a trial period.

If you are talking about the letter, it doesn't say that price increase is because of those - it says that they are the sorts of things VM have been adding.

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
My monthly bill (including a few £'s in calls) is usually around £55 and I've just got a letter telling me my services (XL TV, 20mb BB & phone) will be going up by £6. A more than 10% rise for me then...

But they could have done that by making BT Sports a separately chargeable Premium service. There was no need to add it FOC to a TV package. Because, as we've seen by the increase, it really isn't FOC; non sports fans are helping to pay for it.
You can play with semantics all you want regarding the wording of the letter, but like it or not, the cost to VM of BT sports is responsible for part of this years excessive increase.

That's a unjustified steep price rise if you ask me as any price rise given your services you have should be no more then a couple of quid.

Yes l have to admit it is unfair on customers who are not keen on sport and maybe they should have come up with something else which would please both camps.

One of the advantages of not being a VM customer? BT customers didn't get price rises to pay for BT Sport :-/

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
Price rises are a fact of life and although its never nice all the other providers will put their prices as well and if people don't think they will then they are sadly deluded.

Note if you'd read the article it doesn't mention anything about broadband or annual line rental prices changing. Because they haven't.

This whole pessimistic expectation that costs only ever go up has only come about since the economy went tits up.

They haven't changed them yet.
Line rental on BT's website currently is currently listed on the main sales pages as £15.45 - but their own information says http://www.productsandservices.bt.co...asus_Phone_PC1

Line rental will increase from £15.45 to £15.99 a month

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
As I said, annual line rental is staying exactly the same. Still £11.75 a month.

Well if we are doing that, then it's still more expensive than VM's annual line rental then
