Answer is Its because his Father is.
Now my Father Is mixed race too because his Mother was, ergo by your own definition in this post I am mixed race too.

That its not possible for me to be using white privilege as you keep calling it. You know, since I'm not white.
And since race is defined by that of their parents according to you then nobody is white. If you go back far enough we are all one big mixed race.

Again what is the point of your post as you brought your grandmother into it.....
so you give an example of yourself and your family background and that means what. An easier way of saying your mixed race is just to say it, giving me a history lesson into family serves no purpose.

Okay I'm bored now, I thought troll baiting might have been entertaining since I cant sleep due to feeling sick but if you are just going to ignore everything including things you have said yourself in any post excluding the one directly above yours its no fun.
Night.

Re: Diane Abbott apologises in 'race' row
Actually there is a point about all that 'white privilege sir smh blah blah blah...' and I've just exercised it by adding a certain royal troll to my ignore list.
Ahhh... the privileges of real power are so liberating......

Re: Diane Abbott apologises in 'race' row
I thought this was quite an interesting, and well-balanced, take on the whole farrago.
Where I agree with them is that there is no historical or social context to the (over) reaction to the tweet (which I actually thought was ill-thought, simplistic and trying hard to be a "sound bite"), I also think that everyone, whatever their race/religion/sexuality/etc has a responsibility not to be uttering xenophobic comments, especially those seen as role-models.
I also find it amusing that her comment appeared to homogenise one section of society, when the person she was tweeting with whole proposition was that that sort of approach wasn't appropriate for another section of society.
Was she stupid to say what she did - yes, imho.
Was there an over-reaction to it - also yes, imho (just like I think there is often an over-reaction in many areas of our society to many things, when we should be saying "was this person malicious or just being ill-advised/stupid").

Re: Diane Abbott apologises in 'race' row
Agree with that. If this episode serves to show those who automatically like to jump on the prejudice bandwagon how it feels to be relentlessly harangued over a silly mistake, Abbott will have done us all a favour. Perhaps they'll be a bit more understanding next time a high profile white person makes a racial faux pas with no malice intended. I doubt it, though, as for some people malice and intent don't seem to matter.
Anyway, the question remains does she really accept that what she was offensive or is her apology insincere? Maybe time will tell...

Not a cat's chance in hell. They'll be harrassed and Abbott will most likely lead the charge.

I think it's a clue as to her true feelings about racial equality.Instead of working from the premise that everybody is equal and addressing inequality as she finds it she assumes that inequality is there simply because white people are involved and that attitude will always find racism and inequality even when it doesn't exist and can have the opposite effect of creating racism and inequality

Re: Diane Abbott apologises in 'race' row
There will always be racism it cannot be done away with or educated away and there will always be religious persecution, homophobia and all the other unpleasant things why simple because there will always be stupid humans of all types of colours and creeds who feel they have to express themselves and that expression is always in the above ways. Thats just how it is and always will be the best we can do is to make sure it is as small a minority as possible and to take no notice when they chime up giving them no time or forum for thier stupidity, trouble is it is so entertaining to debate their stupidity we cannot help ourselves .
