GoogleUpdater.exe still calls home every 10 - 15mins though, uninstalled, and binned on my machine (and GoogleUpdater.exe blocked from net access and manually removed)

if its checking for updates i dont mind, what i do mind is things installing extra things that run 24/7 without telling me or giving me the option, then not uninstalling it afterwards!
i've left it installed (with the updater removed) on my web testing VM as its quicker to start than safari, other than a testing browser for webkit based browsers there is no further use for me

re: Google Launches Internet Browser - Chrome
Seems Chrome may be doing more with https pages than just displaying them...
HTTPS sites indexed.

Oh come on, small mistake that is.
How many of you here use personal banking sites without clearing cookies, cache etc before and after?
And a simple fix surely? It is a beta browser, and they DO want feedback... (Uninstall it to see what i mean...)

re: Google Launches Internet Browser - Chrome
I should add that although I've posted the link I haven't got Chrome installed to check it - I'd be interested to see if anyone here gets the same results.

Well I tried it - accessed my credit card, checked, then signed out.
Went to the next tab, and tried to search the history, but all it gave me was the credit card login page.
A lot of people look for things wrong that are not there and start hysteria!

Me, for 1. Nobody else has access to my machine. And the only cookies that I allow when visiting a banking site are the banks' own, if they require it for logging in. Any others are blocked, as I have cookies blocked by default, & only allow them on a per-site basis, when needed [via the Cookie Button extension].
I think I'll stick with Firefox 3 for now. I would be using the 64bit version, but it would mean doing without Flash, or having to load 32bit Firefox anytime I wanted to watch something on Youtube, etc.

Did you uninstall Windows as well because that has Windows Update - and also Firefox updater?
