Also, (from a girly point of view) the only bit of manager eye candy in the league IMO.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
well as people know i'm not a fan of CDS but he still failed to deal with two shots and spilled them, both of them two easily could have fallen back to another Roma player and been a different result, and when we needed world class save he couldn't do it and just watched the ball go in the net
at another point the ball went right through the 6 yard box and he was just running along the goal line.. he doesn't command his 6 yard box like a top goalkeeper should
roll on next season when we have Foster back

I sometimes find it really hard to believe that you are actually a Man Utd fan

Because they didn't tap him up, they declared an interst in signing the player which they have persued unlike Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Despite his club saying they didn't want to sell, pursuit should of ended there, much like Carrick last year, what are you saying its one rule for your team and another for everyone else seeing as unsettling a player seems to be a legitimate tactic of yours when it comes to buying players

But both Carrick and Hargreaves said they wanted to join United and Tottenham wanted to sell as they did in the end and it seems Bayern want to now aswell. Ronaldo hasn't said he wants to join Barcelona or Real Madrid anytime soon, yes he did in the summer, but now he doesn't want to leave and i think thats why United are annoyed by them unsettling the player.

Both players were under contract, due to your clubs actions they said they wanted to leave, what else could their clubs do, we saw what happens to unsettled players with Reo Coker in the summer, actually you guys were implicated in that as well, I hope Ronaldo does leave, what goes around comes around

You do know that clubs can buy players when they are still in contract? United said they were interested in Carrick and Hargreaves, both players said they want to join United, so United tried to buy them. Real Madrid said they were intersted in Ronaldo, he said he doesn't want to join Real Madrid, but they continue to try and buy him. Theres a difference there, United are angry because Ronlado doesn't want to leave but Madrid continue to pursue him. United continue to pursue Hargreaves because he wants to join them which was the same for Carrick, i see nothing wrong with doing this. If a player wants to leave in my opinion they should be allowed to.

Actually they aren't allowed to say they are interested in buying players, they have to contact the club and if the owning club say they don't want to sell that should be the end of it but of course as Spurs and Bayern have found it never quite seems to be the end of it though, you might see nothing wrong with it but footballs governing bodies certainly do and if what you describe ever came out they'd be in big trouble

Can't you see that Ronaldo staying is in the best interests of the Premiership?

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
Sure its hypocritical but thats football. Managers complain when they get a dodgy goal scored against them even if their team scored a dodgy goal in the same game.
Tapping up goes on. Always has done, always will do.
Do you think West Ham made four bids for Upson without knowing if the player wanted to play for them or not?
