That seems crazy. I hope that when Tivo gets Netflix, that has 5.1 sound; something I assumed would be the case is now in doubt.

At least 75% of Sky Movies HD OD has Dolby Digital surround on Anytime+.

I've not get Sky Movies, but I'd be suprised if they were not 5.1 on VM's OD. The FilmFlex Movies are 5.1 sound

Another win for Sky.
Also, Sky offer 5.1 on SD movies; VM don't, athough Telewest did for a while.

Agree, I'm surprised but reports suggest otherwise. HD Anytime movies with 5.1 would make Sky movies a more attractive proposition price wise.

In my view its bad news for consumers and good news for the already cash rich premier league as three bidders will push the value of these rights sky wards, result lots of cash for the premier league and consumers having ever higher bill
Think it was rumoured that AL Jazeera were going to make a bid last time round but never did, with the next round of bidding due around april expect more of this talking up of bidders.

Their team of presenters isnt too bad with the studio team of Gary Lineker, Alan shearer,Ray Wilkins and Glenn Hoddle and commentary by Alan Parry and Steve McClaren. Maybe they know more about this than us.

They may not bid of course.! But one things for sure say if ESPN win one package and AL-Jazeera do bid for PL rights and get a package , and sky pick up the rest it, it will push the cost of those rights up as three companies bid,and also premier league football could be spread over three providers rather then the current two on VM but of course as with all else its just pure speculation at the moment about wether they do bid of not.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV (2012) Vol. 1
Didn't someone post a link a few days ago to a list of 12 channels supposedly coming to Virgin in March? Amoungst the channels were Men & Movies, Movies 4 Men and Movies 4 Men 2.
The link posted by Ken, regarding the SONY UK film channels confirms the above mentioned channels were purchased by Sony Pictures Television last month.
So if the link previously posted is correct, regarding 12 new chanels launching, it would suggest Virgin have been in talks recently with Sony and a deal for their new film channel seems likely.

It said exclusive among satellite platforms , meaning there not available on Freesat but are open to negotiations with other platforms. Adam Crozier confirmed theyd been in dialogue with VM over a year ago.
