I know folk at Turner in the UK and they once told me that a lot of their market is TVs in european hotels, where the screens are still old 4:3 ratio 14in portables. I don't know if that's still the case but that's why CNN, Cartoon Network and TCM were still in the old ratio (and pretty low bit rate, too). Not sure if that's still the thinking. Turner is actually extremely profitable (Ben 10 being the jewel in the crown) so I'm surprised they don't address both the widescreen and HD issues now.

You know people at Turner UK? Sounds crazy, but do you possibly happen to know if they're planning to launch Adult Swim in the UK as a channel anytime soon?

TNA on Virgin Media update:
The Christmas Day showing of TNA Impact has been moved by Sky to Bravo2.
Still no news on where or if TNA Impact will be shown in 2011.

They can't have it as a block over here cos of Ofcom reasons. They can, however, have it as a seperate channel that only broadcasts in the evening.
Remember, Toonami was only a block in the US, but over here it was a whole channel

They care about it, they just don't believe in it. If they didn't care about it then they wouldn't have a UK site and Robot Chicken/Venture Bros. wouldn't have been on FX and Tim and Eric wouldn't have been on 4music this year.

wish ITV2-4HD would be added already, quite a delay compared to Sky

ITV2 HD etc have gone in the HD pack on Sky, so will be getting extra revenue from Sky for that.
I think your subs will have to go up to get them on VM. Are they worth that?

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010) Vol. IV
ITV2-4 HD are pretty pointless, for me anyway. I only watch a couple of programmes on ITV2 and maybe football games every now and then when they're on ITV4. In fact the only thing I'd want ITV2 HD for is the films near Christmas.

I disagree as the majority of ITV's best content is on ITV1 anyway, of which we have the HD simulcast of anyway. I'm pretty sure the majority of people would rather not have the HD simulcasts of ITV2-4 than pay extra on their bill. Otherwise they might as well have Sky where you have to pay extra for all HD channels except the free to air ones regardless
