I was expecting to pay £48 per month which is based on the current website price of £45 for Broadband L and TV XL plus £3 for TiVo. However, my new contract was for £51.49 per month. I know £3.49 doesn't sound like much but is adds up over the year.
I've looked at Virgin's phone prices and compared them with BT. By the time I've factored in features to compare a like for like service I'm better off with BT.
I'm dissappointed I won't get TiVo next week but I know I'll get it eventually. I'll just have to enviously read everyone elses posts about their shiny new TiVos.

Re: TiVo
Just received this confirmation of the boxes on the VIP50 PACK.
Dear Mr. ,
It has been confirmed today, that if a VIP 50 customer who takes TiVo in their main room and wishes to keep their V+ box in their second room (returning the V HD) - they will incur no additional cost.
You will only be charged £10/month extra if you keep both your existing boxes after the TiVo box is installed i.e. you have 3 boxes (The TiVo, V+ and V HD)
Regards,
No idea of other packs?

Thanks for your interest in our TiVo powered service. We've had an amazing response since we launched this product.
You may have heard that some lucky Virgin Media customers have been sent a TiVo remote control alongside a special offer. These people were randomly selected from a group of our longest serving customers. But don't worry if you weren't one of the recipients of this offer - we've got something else up our sleeve. We'll soon be offering all our VIP 50, VIP 20 and XL TV customers (who also have Virgin Media Broadband and Phone) the chance to become one of 1000 lucky customers to win a special TiVo deal and we're continuing to prioritise our existing customers to make sure they are the first people in the country to get a hold of this fantastic new service.
We'll also be doing something special for our non XL TV customers that have registered their interest online at www.virginmedia.com/tivo. We've been busy collating all of their details and will be in touch very soon to let them know when they will be able to get the service. We'll be making sure that they get a chance to get their hands on TiVo in a pre-sale window, before we make this available to the general public. But more about that soon.
We know that people are excited about getting our new TV service, and we're working hard to make sure our customers find out about the great deals that will be available and get installed as quickly as possible.
At last some information but still no dates
Now who wants to be one of the new 1000

Re: TiVo
Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I've been waiting for TiVO since this time last year. A few more weeks isn't going to kill me. I'd ruddy love a personalised remote though - that's awesome!

Now, that's the right way to do it; everyone knows what's going on. It should have happened before the first 1000 went out, but well done and thanks VM for doing it right this time
Maybe they learnt from the complaints on the forums over the first 1000?

Is this definitely a new batch of 1000 or a post relating to the 1000 from the end of last week?

A new 1000 as it is only just posted, plus its a chance to win a special TiVo deal
At least this time we know its going to happen and so shouldn't cause friction etc

Re: TiVo
I know this has probably been asked already but with the TiVo box, will both the HD output and the Scart output both work at the same time in order to send the menus with an AV sender?

Re: TiVo
friction will only occur if they fail to actually inform people how they choose the 1000 .... if an actual random draw but those participating know they are in it then there shouldnt be any friction ... if however they repeat the 'pick 1000 random peeps and tell no one about it' draw then i suspect it will again cause friction
i still maintain the fairest thing is everybody gets the same deal just staggered over a time period that fits with the number of installers available starting with the longest serving loyal customers and working through to the newest ... then surely no one can have a resonable moan groan or whinge
information though is welcome even if its way to late or maybe it was the couriers who were too early with the remotes ... come on VM get the facts out and about early and in full detail so the customers know what is happening before war breaks out on internet forums

Re: TiVo
Heres what I dont get about this TIVO launch VM state TIVO will be open to new customers in April however they still have to get 20000 or so existing VIP20/50 and XL pre reg customers installed. Maybe its me but this seems a lot to get installed in around 7 weeks. Maybe some of the VM staff would no better , and out of the 20000 or so pre reg you can probably chalk a good few thousand off.
