I hadn't picked this up, Richard.
However, I would not be surprised if we had some more apps. Amazon is an obvious jewel that we are missing and we know that there was an approach over a year ago to encourage them to consider a place on the platform. I think the time may now be right.

Personally, I would prefer them to spend a bit more time getting the basic Tivo functionality right and fixing bugs but I guess that doesn't generate them even more money. Apps are just a gimmick on Tivo for me as they never work properly and are too slow, most of us have other devices now that do a much better job.
Sounds like more and more complaints about the new firmware being even slower and Virgin are saying it is being investigated so hopefully they will get that right before releasing it on everyone, although you would think they could do proper internal testing before using paying customers to trial it first.

Yes, the functionality does need addressing, and urgently. If it cannot be sorted with the new software, let's hope the new box rectifies the problem.

Any idea when the rest of the country will receive this update?

Re: Major TiVo update started about 3:20am.
One would suspect sometime during the next two to three months.

Re: Major TiVo update started about 3:20am.
Indeed, got my update this morning.
So far it looks good but I've not had a decent play yet, what's puzzling me at the moment is the option for "record in HD" on the series links. I can't see a way of toggling this on the pre-existing SLs, they're all greyed-out - I suspect it's set these based on being an HD/SD channel.

Record in HD is only valid when you have specified Channels All, as that's the only time it could have a choice between SD and HD.

I suspect you are right. It's only meaningful for "any channel" series links

Thanks SP. if you set 'any channel' and 'HD', if it can't find a HD channel, will it automatically default to an available SD channel?

Re: Major TiVo update started about 3:20am.
It will as long as you set the HD option to 'if possible' rather than 'Always'
