Re: The London 2012 Olympics: Sports discussion
Another GOLD FGS!!! Oh dear, I was hoping GB would blow it during London 2012. Only the thought of our massive failure on the world stage made me feel better about the money that's been spent and all the facilities which have been built in London....

Oh dear another GOLD medal in the women's lightweight double sculls - what'll I do??.... It's unbearable...

True but if you look at the percentage of gold medals per population of each counrty we are actually doing better then the mighty yanks.

They're probably gone by now.
Anyway Ennis has a chance at Gold tonight, heavy favorite. I will not repeat BBC's stupid, stupid, STUPID commentary where they were talking as if it was already done. They even asked her how it felt to be getting a Gold medal. IDIOTS. It's not over until the thin lady wins.

l totally agree on that point Damien as its absolutely pathetic that time after time the BBC commentators seem to think that some of our Olympians only have to turn up to win gold.

They'll look even more stupid if she pulls a hamstring or something and has to drop out... You expect this sort of stuff from the Daily Star not the BBC.

Everyone who follows sports knows that anything can happen even if it usually doesn't. Quiet confidence is what is required here.

Re: The London 2012 Olympics: Sports discussion
Wonderful - she could have won it by just cruising at the end, instead she gave it everything she had.
Makes me proud to be British, and proud she is.
