Well you'd have to bet against England because you could never bet for Scotland or Wales as they don't get to many finals, do they?

Yes yes but in 1966 and in the rugby last year, was it a great win for Britian??

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realise England make a habit of being successful in finals
However IIRC, Scotland seem to qualify quite regularly.....

You don't mind going back a bit do you? 1966.........
and who's talking about Rugby? I'm on abaout a particular way "home" teams play football, and don't forget a lot of players in these teams play or at least started out playing in the English (& Welsh!!!) or Scottish leagues.

I'm not disagreeing with you - perhaps I'm not clarifying what I mean.
When England lose or go through a bad run, it then becomes a 'British' thing. But of course when they win, it's then just "England".
Double standards.

There are 3 things you can count on: 1. Death, 2. Taxes, and 3. The Welsh and Scottish taking the pi** when we lose.

I think you're reading things into peoples comments. When England are crap, yes England are to blame, but if it's something that afflicts all "home" teams it can surely be called a British problem. If England win (as in the Rugby) but play totally different to any other of the home teams, England can claim credit. Having said that, I do think the Welsh rugby team is getting better year by year!
Did I say that? Oh no!

That's true I remember when we stuffed Holland in the Euro finals.......and nearly everyone I was with wanted us to score that extra goal to get Scotland through. I don't think the Scots would have felt the same about England.
Mind you is it just that we slightly prefer the Scots to the Dutch?
