Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
Warnock has gone from Palace to QPR. Wish he had stayed with us but it seems it was down to the money we get from QPR.
Pompey are back in court with HMRC today not sure what the outcome of that will be

I think it's just a formality to make sure that they're not using administration to avoid paying thier tax bill..

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
David Gill, puppet on a string
David Gill has dismissed concerns surrounding the Glazer family, claiming the owners were "running the club the right way".
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8548113.stm
The amount of debt secured on the club and the Glazers' shareholding in it is more than £700m according to recent accounts.
Yep running the club the right way, going from zero pounds debt to £700m, Gill obviously went to the same school of economics as Gordon Brown
But he said the issue had perhaps received the wide coverage that it did because United was such a big club.
And he pointed to the cases of clubs like Chelsea, Manchester City, and AC Milan, where it is the owners who make key decisions "not the fans".
That'll be because those owners have put their own cash into the club to earn the right to make decisions.
"They are passionate about the club, they do understand sport," he added.
Bwhahahaha

Nice win for Arsenal in the end. Great goals by Nasri and (set up by) Arshavin. Arsenal and Munich make it though

Good to see the reception Beckham got. Nearly brought a tear to his eye.

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
I can only see 1 of 3 teams winning this year Barcelona, Man Utd, and the winner out of Chelsea v Inter. Sorry Arsenal but i just think against better quality opposition you will struggle. Still a fine win on Tuesday followed by last nights result, imagine what the odds where on them 2 results, a bet it was

I think if United can win it then Arsenal can win it. Although I suspect Chelsea or Barcelona. I wouldn't be too disappointed to go out in the next round or semis, so long as we can concentrate on the league in which I think we have a chance.
The advantage Arsenal have is what we have a good team but one on which there is little expectation.

Going by the past few results between Arsenal and United/Chelsea i wouldn't say that's the case. I think it will be United or Barca, personally i think Chelsea will be fortunate to get through against Inter in the form they are in and with the injuries they have, especially defensively. They don't have enough to win the whole competition imo.
