I heard that deerstalker hats are coming back 'in', you may well be a victim of fashion whether you like it or not
In fact, it's even worse, you're a trendsetter!

Yes, that's true. Another problem is that if someone gets wind that eg VM is negotiating with Viacom for the missing channels (purely an example) and it comes to nothing, posters are accused of making it up or something similar.
By their very nature, not all negotiations result in a satisfactory outcome. Would people prefer it if this information was shared or not- that is the question!!

How many of the VO coded channels are present? Have you tried tuning to them and putting on the subtitles to try and suss out what the channels are?

I remember it being FTA on satellite, but in 2004 they wanted a cut of the Sky subs and Sky refused. The owners then removed the channel from the Sky EPG, Sky relented and the channel returned a few months later in the Family Pack.
IIRC, it later went FTA again before being removed in the summer of 2010.
I suspect that Telewest may have removed this channel in 2004 or 2010 after losing the satellite feed.
The Hotbird satellite at 13E still carried it FTA, but VM equipment might not have been able to pick it up.
Anyone interested in seeing what this channel has to offer can take a peek here:

this! exactly what superblade has said. i think just an update would make things easier. at the moment a joe bloggs character might be in the pub and his friend mentions something on freeview. he will assume its on virgin media as he pays. he cant find it. he has no experience of coming onto forums or twitter to find out if its on vm or not. its not good customer service even if the channels are fairly average.
as for the channels out of that list i'd imagine it'll be CI HD and history HD. I'd love Mtv classics back for my mum.
Any news on the comedy channel fox news MB or no news?

My Virgin Sources seen your post yesterday and has confirmed the following to Media Boy HQ:
-All V0... channels testing provided no now and next info, no subtitles, no audio nothing so we have no clue what they are.
- ARABIC HAFLA looks like some sort of app as info provided with channel it says only Arabic Hafla in that's now and what's next - something like WorldBox.
- NAT GEO WILD HD has full details of subtitles and what's now and what's next.
Media Boy HQ thinks ARABIC HAFLA will launch soon on Virgin Channel 836. Also NAT GEO WILD HD will soon launch on Virgin Channel 229.

I would love to know what is going on behind the scenes at VM with their negotiations with new channels. Alas, it ain't going to happen!
I used to look forward to reading all the developments taking place with new satellite channels years ago, and there were at least two magazines covering this news.
We have next to nothing now, and it is frustrating that we only get to hear about things when they have appeared or are about to appear on our screens.

At the very least maybe explain why certain channels havent come rather than silence.

They're going to have to do something to remain competitive according to this analysist:

Thanks for the info.
It also looks like Fashion TV leaving Telewest wasn't connected to the shenanigans on satellite. I always wondered how this channel covered it's costs and assumed that they were funded by the rich designers as they carried no advertising and were non subscription for the vast majority of the time.

If not then they shouldn't waste money on crap and spend it on improving content!!!!!
