Vieira was a true giant in the days of Highbury glory.

Arsenal could never had competed with what City offered Yaya. Our wage bill was clogged to the max and having just 1 player on 200 odd k wouldnt work.

As it stands Arsenal have moved up a position in the league. I bet Wenger rules out 1 of his signings now. Mental strength.

In a direct conversation with Dick Law, Arsenal’s contract negotiator, it is understood that Newcastle owner Mike Ashley responded to the offer for Cabaye with the words: “Which part of him do you want to buy?” When Law assured him that Arsenal’s offer was genuine, Ashley then apparently said that they should come back with at least £20 million if they were serious about starting negotiations.

seen this... http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport/...cle3847480.ece
It says Arsene Wenger has told people he's happy with the squad and doesn't agree with the fans that he needs to spend. Current squad can push for honours.

In reality we didnt upset either, it's just posturing. They've all been in football long enough to know how it works and if Arsenal offer an acceptable bid they will accept and if not they won't. These facts won't change no matter no long Pardew and Roders cry into their pillows at the unfairness of it all.

If you had spent the extra million Rogers might have let him go, upset people and they'll dig their heels in and refuse to even negotiate.

Would he have cost arsenal 200k per week, city paid premium wages because they weren't a fashionable club then

Yup. City was clearly on the rise. Yaya does a lot of charity work so did have reason a good reason to go for money. on top of that I just couldn't see Arsenal pay the transfer fee when we had Song picking up form.

replacement for Fellaini?

this is worth a read
incredible if its all true. Alex Ox revelations are unacceptable. Steve Bould called Simon Jordan but that deal wasn't as clear cut as Utd came in and its done, we all know Zaha pretty much begged for a move to Arsenal. Arsene Wenger didn't bother so Zaha went to Utd.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Truly awful performance from an awful team. More physical than Stoke. It was disgraceful the way the players conducted themselves last night and particularly Debuchy and Taylor. Both were awful defending too. Not to take anything away from City but David Silva had 4 defenders in the box with him and not a single one marked him. Yaya Toure would never had scored had Vurnon Anita actually done his job. Other than that City walked the match deservingly. If West Ham put balls in the box and just run at our horrid defence then they'll take 3 points
