Well that's answered my question before I even posted it.
I am connected to Luton core.
So on the line as we speak
Hopefully the two of us wont bring the network to its knees lol
Just upgraded to Homeworks+
Lets hope its up to the job once a few customers are on the headend, or whatever its called. Time will tell.

Jalzoo
Do you need to arrange a virgin media tuneup visit after the Homeworks + 300 upgrade or is that just for business customers.

lol 80/20 is just fine these days. Why you need 300 I will never know (and yes I could get it if I wanted to so not jealous)

The difference between downloading 64 gigs in 2 hours or 304 gigs in 2 hours (Roughly in my head)

I think your usage and other people's usage differ. There's definitely an element of willy waving going on, but there's genuine use cases for these speeds - that probably don't apply to you.
It's a bit like saying why does anyone need 4 wheel drive, because I don't...

Re: Virgin Media Homeworks 300Mb
Not everyone gets a perfect 80/20 line sync either, your lucky. I have just been on the BT website and it's £42.99 for upto 76mb however maximum my line can achieve is 54. Currently I'm paying £57 for 300mb so for £15 more it's fully worth it in my opinion. Kushan the willy waving bit made my morning lmao.

Well, when you put it like that.
304GB is 2 hours? **** a goat. There is not a single you tube video yet showing this new speed in action. Maybe you could make one please?

I'm currently downloading a video brochure I've had done for a new residential village that's been built by my company. It's over 100GB so yes I could use it. I just worry that it would be slowed down because this area is a heavy area.
I might be wrong? Maybe the 28 days money back guarantee might help?

I admit that is good. I pay £47,99 for it. It does slow down sometimes but I am not sure if that's something internal like sky boxes affecting it.
£57 is bloody good. I found an old SH here (2 I think) from last year before I bought the house. I understand I would need a new one anyway 3? so If I do get it I might as well phone up anyway.
Cheers for the feedback all

Virgin Media's 28 day money back guarantee applies to when you take out a new service that you didn't previous have i.e. BB / TV or Home Phone.
Upgrading existing services is covered by the Contract Regulations, meaning you have 14 days to change your mind.

Re: Virgin Media Homeworks 300Mb
Also Ben presumably if the area gets hit with congestion, he's entitled to some kind of discount/reimbursement?

Re: Virgin Media Homeworks 300Mb
If there are area issues, then that's a discussion that would need to be had about an agreed resolution.

Re: Virgin Media Homeworks 300Mb
Just had my installation today for Broadband and Phone, VIVID 200 and SH3 as the prerequisites. Phoned up had the Homeworks+ applied and it appears the router has received the config file. I am noticing no change in speed, other than still only achieving speeds somewhat below 200Mb.
I live in Sale, Manchester I think I'm Area 20, how do I know if the "300Mb" has been rolled out to my area yet?
It looks like I'm flushing £13.99 down the bog for no added benefits.

Re: Virgin Media Homeworks 300Mb
What's a postcode for where you live? I'll see if I can find out.

Just to say though, that there are systems in place to advise both sales and customer service agents as to whether it's been enabled in an area or not.

A friend had that. He got the 200 config but it took a few hours to reboot again to get him the speed.
Also thanks Ben for the info. I've never had VM before so the 28 days would apply.

If you are like me who constantly downloads and also uploads 300 starts making more sense. When a 60 gig game doesn't suddenly take 2 hours on my old 71 meg connection vs 26 minuets now you start to appreciate the speed more.

I have and always will be one for getting as much speed as possible because that's what i love, if the price is right at least.
