Re: Blatter presides over new FIFA crisis
What would they have to have done in order to get a life ban I wonder?
Good riddance to them both.

Re: Blatter presides over new FIFA crisis
In view of what has happened, l personally believe that BOTH nations for the next World Cups, should be stripped of these tournaments.
Its pretty obvious that corruption is involved. And therefore the voting should start all again.
I believe that both Platini and Blatter should be banned for life. We saw Blatter on TV bleeping about his honesty and all this gentleman's agreement crap.
If it involves a vast amount of money. It should be done in the proper way.

Maybe the EU can find a suitably cosy and well lucrative post for him. How about Director General of Sporting Ethics?

Re: Blatter presides over new FIFA crisis
What kind of screwed up universe does FIFA inhabit, that someone who has been banned from the sport for eight years still feels he has the right to decide whether or not to run for office?

I guess that falls under democracy, democracy when needed of course. Plus everything has to be formal nowadays, again when needed of course

World football's governing body Fifa has dismissed suspended general secretary Jerome Valcke.
The Frenchman, 55, is currently suspended from all footballing activities for his alleged involvement in a scheme to profit from the sale of World Cup tickets.
Fifa has recommended that he should be banned from football for nine years.

Isn't it about time that FIFA was declared unfit for purpose and replaced with a new governing body?
It'd also be interesting to find out if any of the corporate sponsors have acted improperly. Wonder if the FBI is looking into that...

It doesn't, fifpro have released a statement about him being mired in previous corruption but I'm prepared to give him a go, I just hope he's got a big broom. Imo this is fifas last hope, this guy gets embroiled in even a whiff of future scandal and the organisation won't survive
