Has it been on constantly for a few weeks?
i find it starts to slow up/become buggy if its not been rebooted in a while.

My TiVo sometimes gets a bit sluggish. I'll try this the next time.
I've always put it down to either the EPG getting updated or some of the other maintenance that TiVo does or sluggish response from TiVo's internet connection when it is getting other information it needs.

Can't say that's been my experience. Mine are only re-booted when there's a software update or when the toaster causes the RCD to trip and I don't really notice any change in performance on either box.

IR interference can cause all sorts of strange behavior. My kids had been playing with a remote control helicopter and the remote control had been left on, pointing at the TiVo box.
It drove me mad for a week trying to work out what was wrong. I tried both my Harmony remotes to no avail and even looked out the original TiVo remote until I noticed that normal service was resumed when I stood in the middle of the room (blocking the helicopter remote). So I covered covered the IR receiver on the box and used the controls on the box to check that the box was indeed working fine. It was only a few minutes after that that it all clicked.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
here's a question ive never understood. what do you get for plugging your tivo box into the the superhub? Is it just the ability to watch channels via tv anywhere??
secondly why do you need to do that?? The tivo is already online as you can send recording requests and it obviously has iplayer etc

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
If you connect you TiVo boxes to your router then you should be able to watch recordings that were made on your other boxes.
Also you are able to use the remote control in the app for iOS and android to actually control your TiVo.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
I have had an odd "fault" appear on my TIVO these last few days. Recordings are mute when I start them, but if I "rewind" the sound reappears.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
That's odd. Does it happen with older recordings?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Wonder if its connected with the other fault that you don't always get the sound until you do something on the remote? On the other hand I haven't seen it on recording of the last few days.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
I am about to use powerline adaptors to connect my Tivo to the network but looking at the online help video it warns against using an extension socket or adaptor plug.
I don't have any spare mains sockets near the router or the Tivo box, is it likely to cause major problems using an extension socket?

Why are you connecting your TiVo to your home network?

Maybe he wants to stream box to box or use the mobile app remote control functionality.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
I agree, muppetman11, but he only seems to have one TiVo and he possibly doesn't understand that the vast majority of TV Anywhere function is available without the connection.
I guess he may also want to maximise his use of Netflix and YouTube from a tablet.
