Re: Football Season 2011/12
Come on Swansea, do Arsenal a favour! If you take some points off Liverpool I'll never make another joke about the Welsh for as long as this day takes to end.

Turns out the Welsh are great! GO WALES!

Yes a good result for the gunners but a poor result by my team.

*cough* Racist comment he allegedly made *cough*
If the FA want to take the moral high ground about respect etc. they would take the punishment although if they were from the lower leagues it's highly likely they wouldn't be in the England squad.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
It's strange that he is allowed to play for England after what happened with Ferdinand and again with Alan Smith a few years ago.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
Not just that, but if every misdemeanour a player committed resulted in them being considered unsuitable to be England captain, it is difficult to see who you could give it to.
Ferdinand with the drug test missing, there was that incident with Gerrard assaulting someone in a night club, Lampard isn't good enough (without dropping Gerrard as they are too similar), there's all this about Rooney's private life... you can't really give it to a keeper because they're too distant from the play and the rest are too inexperienced or less guaranteed of a first team place. The best candidate from the rest is probably Gareth Barry, on those grounds...
It's like when they took the captaincy off Terry over the whole Wayne Bridge thing, and gave it to Ferdinand... if you're going to remove it for off-field stuff, don't give it to someone who also has, uhh, off-field stuff.

Thr trouble with Gareth Barry as captain is he is not good enough to play for England.
