The Italy striker Antonio Cassano is to undergo minor heart surgery after being taken ill on the club's flight home from their 3-2 win over Roma.

Cassano has been receiving treatment since Saturday when he suffered what the club described as a brain problem. He was reportedly joking with team-mates on the plane before suddenly developing difficulties with his vision, speech and movement.

Milan said in a statement that Cassano will undergo the heart procedure some time in the next few days after being diagnosed with a cardiac anomaly, which impaired blood flow to his brain.

Lets hope he recovers fully quickly and make a quick return to the game.

The Football Association have decided to appeal against the three-match ban that threatens to rule Wayne Rooney out of the entire Euro 2012 group phase.

"We received written reasons for the red card on Tuesday afternoon and we were given until midnight (on Friday) to respond."

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini and Arsenal striker Robin van Persie are the winners of the Barclays Premier League awards for October.Mancini is Manager of the Month after leading City to four straight wins, with his team averaging over four goals a game

In total, City netted an incredible 17 goals during October, in what has been an extraordinarily goal-heavy start to the Premier League season.

Meanwhile, van Persie has won the Player of the Month award after an electrifying month that saw him score seven goals in three games, taking him to 28 goals in 27 games in the Premier League during 2011, and helping Arsenal up to seventh place in the table.

One they are appealing against the three match ban for a red card on Ronney, and now they have allowed Terry into the England squad, despite the racism comment he has made.

Once again IF these two players were from the lower leagues, everything would be happening to them.

Well l am not going to lie as l support 2 teams and they are Plymouth Argyle and Liverpool and l have supported both since l was a young nipper.

Manchester United have renamed the North Stand at Old Trafford the 'Sir Alex Ferguson stand' in tribute to his 25 years at the club.

Nice tribute that, although it's a shame to place it somewhere few United fans visit
