Yes, but a lot of people get V+, Sky+Hd for PVR functionality. You can't gt a Sky+ box now and VM never produced an SD only PVR. And isn't the only PVR you can get on freesat, HD?
I agree sky have had success with HD. But that's never been in dispute. In fact, that's what I'm saying; HD enthusiasts are better served by Sky. Leave us who like HD, but aren't obsessed with it, on a service like Virgin, where you get a good amount of HD, but no charge
I have no plausible answer because I don't know the reason for the loss; you apparently do!

Do not forget that the V+ box and the up-scaling that it did and still does?

The no charge thing is a complete red herring. What do people want HD for in the main? Sport and Movies = £7 charge. Think most would be willing to pay the extra £3 to gain parity with sky. Obviously not most on here due to the village of the damned mentality.

I don't pay the 7 pound charge, as I do't have sports and movies, so for people like me, that argument doesn't hold water.
But I do like the HD channels we get for no extra charge.

Wow - a quote from an ex-astronaut who took the airline he was CEO of into bankruptcy.
The relevance is underwhelming.....

And you could still have them at no extra charge but that does not stop Virgin from providing more flexible HD packages to those who wanted them with a slight increase in their bill.

Why not have a poll, to see if the figures back up your proposition?
btw "village of the damned" mentality? We are all alien implants?

And you know how these channels/packages are bought how?
In the 90s, the channel suppliers insisted on selling them in packs of channels in bandings (numbers of thousands of customers), and if that still the case today, VM (and customers who didn't want to pay for more HD) would have to subsidise those who do (as explained previously).

I suspect your Times paywall subscription is being subsidised by other Times readers and l suspect you won't be moaning about that.

Yes SKY has the Movie's and Sports cornered for the moment. We all need to wait for the reports and the appeals to be done

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. III.
i hope not mediaboy, there is nothing on that channel. BBC2HD would be great, most of the bbc's decent shows would be upscaled or in HD, would be great!

Don't forget new customers pay 49.95 HD Activation fee or what ever they call it these days.

Well at least they have paid it off as you still pay a lot more for the HD on SKY over the same period of the contract length?
