Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 3
Let's be totally honest here, imo, and I'd hazard a guess that a lot of people feel the same, if any of the comments I've heard from friends, family, etc are to go by, then the majority of channels on both Virgin and Sky are total rubbish/pish/garbage use any adjective you wish!

Again your point of view. I don't disagree, but there is enough to keep people interested, and revenue for the channel operators.

Ofcourse there is everyone is different to what tv/movies etc they like.
For me getting rid of linar tv is cheaper and better but for others it could be the other way around.

You have to hear in mind that VM have to cater for a wide range of tastes and it is obvious that we will all gravitate to some channels rather than others. My own viewing habits as shown in my recordings clarify that my programme choices come from a wide range of channels. I would be bored and frustrated if I had to sit in front of just one channel every evening.
I think some viewers gain the impression that there's nothing on because they do not thoroughly scour the schedules on all the channels to see what's on.
I'm still catching up with recordings made last year, as well as viewing On Demand and Netflix. The quality of my viewing is high and there is plenty there for me, so I have no complaints.
I suppose if a stamp collector is looking only for programmes devoted to philately, they are going to be disappointed and maybe they don't need a TV at all!
I have to say, though, that Tru TV does look as if we are scraping a very filthy barrel so I don't think we're missing much there and I would not want my subscription increased to pay for that! There are better FTA channels missing from our EPG that I would rather have than Tru TV.

How much would it cost me to upgrade from a 500GB to 1TB TiVo?
Shame they haven't brought out a 2TB TiVo.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 3
haha why is the One show being mentioned?? Is there a particular reason for the One Show being taken off air the day after the vote or did we mean the entire bbc network??
as cj says it'll be 2 years or so after the vote until independence goes through. except it on some cheesy date as well like st andrews day 2016 or something daft like that. with fireworks over edinburgh castle (if it has one) and salmond thumping a desk mentioning past struggles and how scotland is free at last.
If you want to convince people to stay in the uk instead of the one show mention how all football will go subscription including match of the day and the scottish version...
And we in the rest of UK will have to pay to see SPL games, well that's the viewing figures down then

This isn't the reason that TruTV isn't on VM. I asked last Sunday and, whilst I didn't get to know the actual reason, it was confirmed that this rumour was incorrect.
I received no clarification one way or the other regarding the rumour that the delay was down to negotiation for extra channels from this stable.
VM were said to be "hopping mad" that TruTV were advertising availability on the platform, complete with EPG number, before carriage had even been signed off.

Ultimately it's going to be about the money - Virgin wants a larger amount, TruTV is willing to pay a smaller amount.

The quoted price is £49.95 for the activation fee and £49.95 for installation. However BenMcr has recently advised TiVo is now available for self install at £20.00 so that could save you some money if your signal levels are suitable enough to allow it. You may even get a deal dependant upon who you speak to.

Where did TruTV advertising the Virgin EPG number?
All I saw was 'On Virgin Media' posted on their web site. The EPG number of Channel 245 was posted on Digital Spy.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 3
Id imagine most channel operators hate having to deal with virgin media. I know they're fighting for the best deal but it must be an awful effort for the operators. I'd be put off dealing with them. Everything is long winded
