Re: Football Season 2010/2011
Interesting planning (or lack of it) for the w/e of Apr 16/17
Man U v Man City - Wembley
Bolton v Stoke - Wembley
Arsenal v Liverpool - Emirates (Sun)
London Marathon (Sun)
If Man Citry get through to the next round of Europa Lge I believe that will mean the Utd - City game will be on the sunday (as City will be playing on previous Thursday).
Me thinks that Euston Station and the M6 are to be avoided that weekend!!

Re: Football Season 2010/2011
Saves bringing in someone who's third or fourth choice from another Prem team and not up to it on loan. Lehmann has played for the club before and played in the Bundesliga until last season. Wenger clearly thinks he can do it otherwise he wouldn't sign him. He'll probably only be cover for Almunia anyway, until the other keepers are fit.

United win again "just". It has been the story of this season, getting results, but not playing as we know they can, I can't see United winning anything this season, their luck has to run out at some point.
Anyway, the next game in the Champions League is coming, bring on the Arsenal I say................. Oh !! wait a minute.............

Re: Football Season 2010/2011
I cannot believe that Capello is seriously thinking about having John Terry back as captain, is an insult.
What he did to be stripped of the captaincy in the first place should have been made permanent, he is a disgrace to the game for what he did to Bridge, and shouldn't be captain again.

I don't think Capello gives a toss either way now, laughing all the way to the bank.

I partially agree. What he did with Bridge was a moral problem but it was a team mate (who has since quit England) and by all means if it undermines his authority in the squad losing the captaincy is the right decision. But, Bridge has quit England and rightly or wrongly, the issue with him is no longer an issue and Capello is best judged, along with his staff, to decide what respect the squad have for Terry. Morality shouldn't matter there - I don't agree at all with what he did, it appals me but your personal beliefs don't come into it.
And if you're simply going to make an example of Terry for his off-field antics, and use it as a reason not to make him captain, then who can you turn to who is squeaky-clean? Let's not forget Ferdinand with the drug test (he did!) and I know he got off (insufficient evidence) but Gerrard was charged with assault or whatever in a nightclub. You could make extra-marital arguments equally against Rooney and Lampard, discounting them I don't see who you can give it to.
For me the role of captain is about respect of the squad and leadership on the pitch - if a player has that, he is the obvious choice.

It's the sign of a good side, because if you aren't playing well you need to take your chances to win, if you are, you have more chance of scoring.

Re: Football Season 2010/2011
A Football Association tribunal has given Sir Alex Ferguson a five-match touchline ban for his comments about referee Martin Atkinson.

Could have a big impact on the title race and imo he has had it coming, as have others

Re: Football Season 2010/2011
United get all the decisions don't they
I guess someone at (sweet) FA HQ wants to make sure Arsenal win something this year. In any case SAF should just do what Murinho did and wear a hidden mic and earpiece from the stands.
