It doesn't work for the deleted folder. Each item in there has to be individually deleted but, as has been said before, this folder does not contribute to the used space and TiVo manages it as required.

Strange one today, Wife has gone to watch neighbours recorded from 5HD today and upon playing it the recording is Sky Living? Anyone else had this? Never had a problem with this series link before.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
If I reset my thumbs, will it delete recorded programmes? Want to reset all my thumbs but want to make sure I am not deleting recorded stuff as well.

Actually, found it on Google. Must have been spelling things wrong as it was second link this time. Either that or I am still half asleep.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Starting to go off the Tivo software.
The Netflix app is ridiculously slow on loading but I can live with this.
VM for some reason often is slow in updating the program guide so if something changes you often miss a recording or record the wrong program even old video recorders had PDC.
Also correct me if I am wrong but you can only have 5 minutes to play with on default recording controls? so if you want it to start early by 2 mins it can only run over by 3 mins ? this is crap. Often I miss the start of the show and sometimes miss the end. Good job most of that I watch are on channels with on demand.
Another if my nephew visits I put cbeebies on when he goes I change channel to say 101 using the numbers but the mini menu starts from cbeebies and does not rest. Only a small issue but one that really is not gonna hard to fix

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
When I record a live event it asks if I want to add an hour. Is this option not available for all recordings?
5 minutes would be ok if you could completely trust the guide data, but I agree, currently it's stingy.

The prompt message is only available for live recordings, which varies from 5 mins to 3 hours. You can manually increase the time of each recording if you wish to.

I just looked into it and its a pain having to do that for every recording as the default options are restricted

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Mine has started to freeze and open the home menu by itself at around 7pm each night, its really annoying as it takes about a minute to become responsive again.

That's a known software fault. Unfortunately there isn't currently a workaround.
It's interesting that it happens about the same time each day. Is there something specific you/it is doing at the time? (Such as starting recordings)

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Just out of curiosity, when a TiVo box reset itself; is it installing a new update, or has it got something to do with TV listings?
Also, is there a change log for each TiVo update that is released?

If it resets during the day or evening, it's probably caused a software bug. Software updates and other planned reboots are done in the early hours of the morning.

They usually post a summary of the new features on community.virginmedia.com
This is the summary for the current release

Cheers mate. My box reset last night at 4am, so I presume it was installing a new update.
