Re: What have you just bought?
Some gold plated component video (RGB) leads from Amazon to connect my DVD recorder to the new TV. ( Allows progressive playback mode )

I'm currently using a composite video and sound set (white/red/yellow)to carry the RGB signals but they must be degrading it somewhat.

Sorry, Gary, I don't know what you mean.
What I mean is small notes for bars and restaurants, for drinks/snacks/meals, so I don't get hit for credit/debit card transaction charges.

Re: What have you just bought?
Just bought my wife the most basic Kindle for her birthday. She didn't want the others which are a lot more expensive.
Now looking for another refurbished laptop to put Linux on so my son can have one for school and wife/daughter another for playing. Really just need to browse, read email, do scratch and watch DVD's and not a lot else. I like Lenovo Thinkpads as I know all the bits work and I can get T60's for under £150.
---------- Post added at 12:59 ---------- Previous post was at 12:32 ----------
Found the laptop, others have commented Linux works fine (and I've put Mint on the similar T60). Probably need to source a new battery, got a nice one cheap on Amazon for the T60.

I'm sure I've seen that in the shops for £12 (while Currys sell it for £30 )

Could have been Tesco or Asda.
