Re: The Happy Thought Thread
Fantastic UK weather again for another 2 weeks off in the UK for days out, I timed my 2 weeks off perfectly back in June too. I can't remember such a good summer in the UK before, atleast as an adult I can't really remember how long it lasted 40 odd years ago.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread
Out for another association walk this morning with Rossi our idiotic greyhound and Oliver who’s coming to us after we get back home from holiday. He’s currently being fostered by one of the rescue center workers as he was not coping in kennels at all, Brindle lurcher less than a year old, was kept in a garage , horrifically treated & never associated with other dogs.
So this is a slowly slowly to make sure he’s ok. Everytime we go and meet him and spend time with him there’s a little less fear and a little less nervousness.

Goes on too long.
Should be soccer - October to March then cricket for the other 6 months. OK, with our weather maybe allow the soccer to run to May but it really shouldn't start so early.
And then holding the world cup (Rugby is guilty of this too) in the middle of the northern summer!!! They should move this around so it's held in the winter for the hemisphere it is located in. That way it doesn't always disrupt the local game in the south.

They did that for a recent world cup I'm sure and it was plain weird. I think the main idea is that its during the time between seasons.

I feel the same with Soap Operas, too many of them and they're constantly on the TV. Add to those the crap like 4 in a bed, Bake off, Masterchef, that SAS rubbish and all the celebrity housewifes of some shithole nobody cares about.
Which is why I don't watch them
oh, and it's 'football' . . unless you're American

True, all the same just with a different set/staff/cast/task but essentially the same.
And, I believe, it was soccer here too for quite some time too. Was it the Americans using it that pushed to using football. Still using soccer distinguishes it from the various other "football" games especially that one that rarely uses the foot (the one that you don't touch down to get a touch down).
