According to the statement by Ntl, you won't be upgraded until January, at the earliest. The end of this year is a date quoted for 3mb users. With 2mb and 1mb users being upgraded after that.

Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase
Sounds lush yes but I fail to see ntl's problem with upgrading everyone, if it is down to there servers, then I wonder seriously about the quality of there systems, if they are not upto the job don't offer the service.
Be like a hospital opening a new ward with no beds in it. POINTLESS.

Nope, 3mb customers get the upgrade 1st. Then others following next year.

Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase
To be honest it sounds very bad business practise to ignore the rest of the users for the highest paying ones, be like a car dealership giving the GLX car buyer a free meal and making you wait in a cue in rain for a hotdog from dirty blogs caravan. Just because you own the LX.

Its to do with load Since fewer people are on the 3mb its easier to upgrade them to test the capacity and how the network performs before letting the hoards on.

How far in though? they upgrade the 3mb users, find aload of "mythical" techincal problems ( rake it in with people upgrading so hence my next point) make the 2mb and 1mb users tempted to this 10mb by making us wait well into Febuary I bet, and once people moving to the 10mb service at £37.99 is slowing then finally upgrade us.
Thanks NTL over 3years service and your going downhill IMHO quicker then BT.

To test it? so they are not sure about there own systems? if so why even talk about offering the service?
And hoards on? so let the rich payers play with the new toys then the riff raff??
Anyone know a ISP provider for Manchester which values its customers on all tariffs?

So, in your experience of rolling out 10 meg to 1.5 million users, what do you advise ntl do? How do you suggest they orchestrate the rollout?

Area by area start small in more outstreached sections, localise the release and slowing put the stress on the systems, this way you dont have people on different tiers getting annoyed as everyone in there segement is done at once.

But then those who are not in the 'outstretched' sections would get as annoyed as you seem to be by not getting upgraded at the same time as those in the outstreached sections...

Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase
So if they give 10meg to the 3meg users, does this mean i can expect to pay 1/5 of what they pay for my 2meg connection.
or do i change providers

And those who pay there bills and see's there neighbours get updated and they dont and live in same street get more annoyed.
So move your rolling eyes away matey.

What does anyone think about Markys suggestion? when users get 10mb for £37.99 and we are paying £24.99 that we lower how much we pay?
I know I aint paying £24.99 when you lot on 3mb have 10mb. And ntl can come and kiss my hairy behind aswell.
