After you decided to ditch the TV and LL and go standalone BB only Did they then offer you the phonline that is REQUIRED for tv 'lol that makes me laurff' for free ? They did with me
It's insane that they insist you take a landline and pay for it of course so that they can then offer you a bundle deal regarding the tv.
Why not just let you choose what you want Like the butchers does as an example. If you want to buy pies yea thats cool. But if you want some steak and the butcher insisted that you also need to buy some sausages you would tell him where to stick his sausages
The landline that VM insisted i take when i had TVXL never got used but i had to have it and PAY for it of course..
But when i said hey VM i dont want the landline or the tv i just want broadband they said yea thats cool But while your here on the phone why not just have that landline for free. you know the one we insist on if you take tv. in fact dont just have it for free we will reduce the cost of your standalone bb by 2 quid a month.
So they would actually be paying ME now for the landline ok it would only be 2 quid a month but its kinda crazy them paying me 2 quid a month for something that they insist i take if i want tv
Not sure if i inserted enough

There is a fundamental misunderstanding of what telephone line rental is and companies are quite keen to keep it that way.
When the telcos (BT or VM) install the telephone line, obviously there is a cost to them at that point of install, but after that no more cost to them, yet the telcos keep charging for "line rental." The reason is, it is in fact a connectivity fee. You pay to stay connected to their network.
If in the near future, VM move over to VOIP, telephone line rental will remain, under a different name....Regardless of the service(s) you take there will always be that £20+ (by then) "telephone line rental" charge.

Re: More price rises
Yeah, it irks me to no end that Virgin still pushes the telephone line. There's no need for it at all, but because they make huge profits on it, they'll keep pushing it.

nope no questions about land line just that if I wanted to keep landline it would be 48.25.
we never used the land line in the 16 years we had virgin.
it was there just purely for the discount.

those prices are no different to the prices now just more selection in the bundles plus there not including the phone line cost of £19.

Re: More price rises
The list isn't accurate. For instance all the Full House bundles come with VIVID 200.

Re: More price rises
I'd expect so for new sign ups (and possibly for bundle changes) but not had the details yet.

Re: More price rises
There's nothing on accounts to log if a customer has been sent anything like that and even if there was, agents wouldn't bother to check it.

I would expect they need to wait. The letter is triggers the appropriate clause in the T&Cs.
