Most tyres are handed mainly due to the tread pattern (designed to push water outwards and when reversed pushing water towards the middle of the tyre)
Slicks though can be handed due to construction techniques with the rubber overlaps causing the most issues like de-lamination.

Re: Formula 1 2013 season
I really hope that guys OK after being hit with Webbers rear wheel.. After China and now this RedBull needs a major fine...
---------- Post added at 13:36 ---------- Previous post was at 13:28 ----------
The rear right wheel changer gestured with his hand to pull the wheel off and the lollipop guy thought he waved an OK.. Poor cameraman facing away from the action had the wheel bounce and hit him just below the neck on the upper back
---------- Post added at 13:44 ---------- Previous post was at 13:36 ----------
BBC's Jennie Gowe has reported that the cameraman works for F1 and has a concussion and chest pains
---------- Post added at 13:50 ---------- Previous post was at 13:44 ----------
Two unsafe releases, cameraman injured and then Bianchi's abandoned car after he bailed from a small fire rolling backwards across the track... Whatever next???

Let's hope this is not a precursor of what is to come. One sporting event down from 3, and already one result I didn't want. Now for tennis and golf.
