Van Persie FTW!
I really like the Dutch national team, always worth a watch! If England don't win, and France don't win then Holland would be my third team! (Although I have a bet and a sweepstake on Brazil so Holland are my fourth team right now! And I still quite like Spain!)

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
Common sense may yet prevail regarding vuvuzelas
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...10/8737455.stm
Quote:
South Africa's World Cup organising chief Danny Jordaan may ban vuvuzelas from inside stadiums after complaints from broadcasters and supporters.
The constant sound of the high-pitched horn-like instrument has so far drowned out much of the atmosphere-generating singing usually associated with games.
And Jordaan, when asked if he would get rid of them, told BBC Sport: "If there are grounds to do so, yes.
...
Jordaan admitted he was not a huge fan of them himself. "I would prefer singing," he said.
"It's always been a great generator of a wonderful atmosphere in stadiums and I would try to encourage them to sing.

Actually, he claims it was a protest:

"I know the rules very well, but the referee was quite lenient and only gave me a yellow card."

It's still funny though

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
I'd hate to say it but the Ger vs Aus, game was far more entertaining than our England game last night. I however don't think the sending off of one of the Austrailia players was justified.
And I am sorry but who the hell invented those bloody awful sounding horns - all the way through the game, surely the players get distracted by them??

England games are rarely that good to be fair.

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
Germany were 14/1 at the bookies going into the game. They're 9/1 now. That's some achievement. They're easily the most impressive team so far...
Then again, England have gone from 8/1 to 7/1. Not sure why that is...

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
Germany have looked about the most impressive so far, even tho it was against somewhat poor opposition.
