I'm sure every top club in Europe will be after him he decides to leave. Ferguson has said theres been intrest from other clubs but they don't make a song and dance about it like Madrid have which is why he doesn't want to sell to them. Ofcourse he doesn't want to sell him at all, he's the best player in the world at the moment, which is why theres been numerous press releases stating that he's not for sale. I don't think we can really comment on Ferguson leaving him to rot in the reserves until the new season kicks off anyway because it's highly unlikely it will happen anyway.

I don't know anyone who says SAF turned him in to the palyer he is - but I know a lot who say he stayed loyal to him during the whole 'winker' thing.

Rooney wanted to go to United because was ambitious and wanted to win bigger trophies - the reason most players sign for bigger clubs. But what else can Ronaldo win at Real?

And what else can Ronaldo win at Man Utd.

Maybe he is motivated by wanting to win the Champions League with his boyhood club. Maybe its not about winning but enjoying a different lifestyle in Spain.

Maybe he wants to play for a club which has more history of success than Man U - you know 9 european cups as opposed to Utds 3, and he doesnt want to stay at Utd just because they are the richest team in the world - as opposed to the most succesful.

This might just be me but I'd rather play for a team whose success was ahead of them, not behind.

Well that sums up the arrogance of Man U fans in thinking that they will remain the best club in Europe - assuming you are talking trophies and not financially. You are assuming Utd will win more than Real Madrid - maybe Ronaldo thinks otherwise.

I can see real dominating the Spanish league for seasons to come, I can't see any one team dominating the Champions League but I can see Real winning it in the next few years.

I'm not assuming United will win more than Real so where you had that idea from I have no idea. You mentioned about Rooney going to Everton has similarities with Ronaldo and Real and I pointed out Rooney guaranteed himself the success that Everton could not offer.

Ronaldo would not guarantee any more success with Real other than possibly World Player of the Year.

You then mentioned Real's succesful history in europe - no-one can dispute that but how will Ronaldo benefit from Real's past when they've won very little in the last 5 or so years?

I mentioned Real's history because we were talking about his motivation to leave. I suggested he might have always harboured desires to play for the club of his dreams, one with a history of a lot more success than Man Utd. I think its perfectly feasible for people to want to play for other clubs for that reason.

Real have convincing won the Spanish League this season gone, alot of followers of Spanish football can see them being a major force next season too. Maybe his motivation is joining a once great club to make them once great again.

United have an awesome team right now. It does not take much logic to see that most can assume their success will continue.

Well yes I'm sure it's easy for you to say that but I'm sure everyone else will see that I'm merely suggesting that there's no reason to think there's anything at Real ahead of him which he won't win with United. They are fairly equal in stature and success so I see no motivation for him to leave other than childhood ambition.

The way Utd fans are going on about it, it would be quite easy to say that a lot are worried that Ronaldo made your season. One man (i.e Beckam)certainly did not make Real - but most would say that his signing had a lot to do with commercial aspirations as well as football - but it seems like a lot of Utd fans are thinking one man leaving (i.e Ronaldo) will be the end of Utds success in the very near future.

Oh by the way I heard something about Utd wanting Santa Cruz to play for them. If true, isnt he under contract to Blackburn? How many years does he have left on his current contract?
