Re: The UFC thread.
Why would it ruin it? Shane has a second-to-none track record in global branding. He knows his stuff.

Re: The UFC thread.
The UFC has already been whored out too much as it is and is over-commercialised. I've complained about this before. £150-£250 for a non-floor seat is just one reason. Trying to cram too many fights without having the fighters is another.
That's assuming we don't start having other UFC fighters jumping in mid-match if the WWE get in on the act.
A lot of people have stopped following the UFC altogether and stick with the smaller franchises like Strikeforce although a lot of good ones are being muscled out by the UFC like Affliction or being swallowed up like Pride.

Then what Shane will do is market it smarter, not harder.

This wouldn't be a McMahon family venture. It would be just Shane.

Who's a McMahon. I wouldn't trust him to do anything other than incorporate a load of "sports entertainment" style guff, whether it's marketing or actual matches.
As punky has said, UFC has already become a shadow of it's former self. This would probably be the final nail in the coffin.

The king of sports entertainment is Vince. There's no way Shane would be stupid enough as to go up against his father or even do anything remotely similar to it.

Re: The UFC thread.
I do like Griffin, so looking foward to this.
Just noticed though the coaches are fighting this time which is disappointing. If Evans beats Silva at 108 then he will get to fight Rampage.
I notice that despite Kimbo Slice being utterly useless Dana White keeps pushing forward. He's scheduled at the TUF10 finale despite losing. He also seems to think he'll replace Matrione despite there being other equally eligible fighters. Its annoys that something which should be a sport is being rigged in favour of entertainment (or rather what the president thinks is entertaining). It shouldn't be like that. It should be impartial. Its only get worse if the McMahons get in.

Re: The UFC thread.
Yup, they're all unbeatable until they're beaten.
Pity all the links have been removed from YouTube etc.

Re: The UFC thread.
For anyone who missed it (it seems to have been a last-minute deal) ESPN are showing the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter - Lesnar vs dos Santos. The first two episodes aired last night but are repeated tonight from 04:00. The next episode is next Thursday at 22:30 with the following week's episode on Thursday 21st at 22:00.
