Re: Formula 1 2010 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
I won't believe it until the board finally makes up it's mind. I'm getting disappointed that companies won't commit and keep bailing out. Renault are an engine supplier, they have that commitment to potential championship contenders Red Bull for next year. They'd do well to sell their team to somebody who can make something good with it like Dave Richards tried to do way back when. Call it Benetton again, I dunno.........

the way Renault are at the moment I don't care if they go. it seems after this meeting the result will go to the board.
Not sure if they will stay as an engine supplier though which might be the best way forward.
At least Dave Richards wants to be in F1 and wants to bring the Gulf colours with him too

Maybe the "junior" team gets second pick when it comes to the new parts but I bet there is not much between the main works cars and the "junior" team. I bet they will never say what the difference in spec is.
Do you class the Stobart Fords as Junior team? Just curious....

From that i was expecting this (why hold a conference to say there was no deal?):

good news all round and also seems Jean Todt helped in making this happen so something good to come out of him being FIA president

I wonder what they had to promise the poison dwarf to get seventeen years?

A quote attributed to Bernie has stated that there are four hats in the ring, not just the two previously noted.....No news on who they are though ?
Although I am working for the same company I was nine years ago we are now on our third set of owners. I can sympathise with the staff, the uncertainty is never good, especially at this time of year. Good luck to all at Enstone.

At least commonsense seems to have prevailed in the end and a British Grand Prix is guaranteed for the foreseeable future. That can only be good news.
I wonder how much of the Donnington work will still go ahead or are they just going to lose a shed load of cash?

Junior WRC is a whole different class to the Class N cars, they're normally a smaller engine and don't have the driver assists of the full cars so atm you won't see Kimi racing against the main WRC stars

Must admit I understood that Kimi was in a full WRC class "B team" not a junior team in a different class as you describe. AFAIK the Stobart Fords for example are pretty much full spec Focus WRC cars run by the factory ![Smilie](images/smilies/smile.gif) .
As this is an F1 thread we are running the off topic risk.
