Very true hate having to find programs via a streamer. It's the last choice. The only exception is I player, and I can count on two hands the number of time I have done that

Which gimmicks?

No he isnt.
The post clearly states "in my eyes", and how it benefits him.
Nowhere in that post does it/he mention the entire population.
(the "entire population" of what btw ?).

As I say each to their own OB . But various forums seem to be full of people regretting changing from the V6 tivo to 360. You need to be sure of what you're getting before changing. Granted new customers have no choice.
The word ' upgrade' is often isn't the case with VM and designed to 'seduce' customers( same with the telephone service when the change to voip is definitely a downgrade) .

Why? You do realise that you can bookmark programmes on the streamers on both the TiVo and the 360, don’t you?

But you always get some that regret the change, and they are always the most vocal. I am sure that many more are perfectly satisfied.
As I have said before, there are those who don’t like change.
When you buy a new car, surely you don’t expect it to have all the same features of your old one, do you? When I bought the car I have now, I found that it did not have a CD Player, but what I could do was stream, which gave me far more choice, but I bet there were those who didn’t like it. You have to change with the times if you don’t want others to regard you as a dinosaur.

Re: TV360
No, but it should have the features you want.
The CD analogy is fundamentally flawed, it’s a dated technology the world moved past. Every CD player installed in a car comes at a not insignificant cost across tens of millions of units produced.
Where the “feature” is software running on identical hardware to that which you continue to distribute the marginal cost of continuing to provide it should be at or near zero. It’s not provided as an alternative to something other users may want instead.

You can’t please everybody, but things change regardless. Get over it.
As for CDs, that’s your opinion. Many of us have a substantial collection of CDs, but in the end, we adapt.

It’s not my opinion it’s a fact that the vast majority of new cars come without CD players, ironically due to the rise in streaming audio.
However it’s good to know you still have a substantial collection of CDs. Perhaps indicating the slow nature of technological “progress”, and that not everyone will have the same uniform set of preferences as a consumer.
Television companies and platforms will likely cater to as many as they can for as long as they can since their revenue depends on it. The record label that made your CDs on the other hand has no ongoing customer relationship.

I have no argument with you there. My point was simply that we all have to adapt to change, but some find that difficult.

I don’t watch ads at all. I pay the premiums for the streamers rather than watch them. However if you watch the free versions, I agree that it’s a pain from the consumer point of view.
From the point of view of the broadcasters it makes perfect sense not to allow people to skip the commercials, given that advertisers pay them to be watched.
Make the most of being able to fast forward through advertisements through your recordings. Those days are numbered.

As long as you can put up with the often woke content, that’s good advice.
