Re: Neighbours axed
Well in this case, they would be replacing crap
However, you should probably note the update ;

Please note: since this story was published, the original source - The Sun - have changed their tune. They now claim Neighbours is 'facing the axe'.

I could easily add lots more to that list, but there's probably a 10,000 character limit to forum posts

Loads have done well after Neighbours
Russel Crowe, Liam Hemsworth, Holly Valance, Delta Goodrum, Natalie Imbruglia, Luke Mitchell to name but a few and not including the obvious ones

Re: Neighbours axed
A lot of soaps are like Mousetrap in that they keep going because they've been going so long. People still go to see Mousetrap because it's the longest running play in the world, everyone knows the murderer is .. put down that axe Agatha, and the gun, and the lead pipe ... <click>

Re: Neighbours axed
It's not been axed, C5 have just withdrawn their funding. Probably going to spend it on Live Tiddlywinks.
I stopped watching when Bouncer the dog got the sack for taking an unnatural interest in Charlene.

Without funding, its axed.
Its only hope is someone else funding it, and they have no one atm.

Re: Neighbours axed
Used to love Neighbours and Home and Away when I was a kid.
Looking at it now though I cant believe how bad some of the acting is.
Still I guess Neighbours got me through my teenage years.
Nothing can be as bad as when they rebooted Crossroads in the early 2000's. That was terrible!

Guy Pearce, the girl from The 100, Jason Donovan's Characters dad, that show has spawned some serious stars

Even the Australians stopped watching it a while back! If no U.K. channels pick it up, it’ll be gone by autumn.
