MUTV free to all VM customers from 1st July until 14th July, ch 526, not that there there are any live games on, first friendly is not until 16th July.

I have been given scan data for the end of June, which shows 4 new cryptically named additions (on 4 networks used by VM for internal testing):
TSID 8, SID 809, Service Name: InternalASD
TSID 9, SID 915, Service Name: InternalBSD
TSID 23, SID 2303, Service Name: InternalAHD
TSID 35, SID 3503, Service Name: InternalBHD
Indications are that these channels will be in the Sky Sports packs and in the Sports section of the EPG on channels 519, 520, 509 and 510 respectively. The EPG programme information states "Coming Soon".

Do you think that these will be extra streams for Wimbledon?
Maybe this is something to do with the Sky Sports shake up??

The latter I would think. The EPG channel numbers and inclusion of Sky Sports pack codes give more of a clue than the cryptic channel names.

Agree with you there.
From what I've seen the new channel lineup will be along the lines of Sky Sports Football 1, Sky Sports Football 2, Sky Sports Golf, Sky Sports Cricket, Sky Sports Arena, Sky Sports Action, Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports F1, Sky Sports Mix and Sky Sports News.
Sky need to launch 2 new channels to accommodate their changes. It looks like the channels that are testing are the SD and HD versions of the new channels.
Looks like this will be taking place soon. Hope we get some official news and the new pricing structure this week.

I wonder how it will work out for those who already have sky sports channels, or are about to sub to them?

Presumably they will all continue on the full Sports pack unless they inform their TV provider otherwise once the changes are announced.

That's what I thought. Then I guess if you want to opt for just one of the packs you will start a new 12 month contract? Win win for sky and virgin 'eh!

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2017)
Why 12 months? For most people Sky Sports is on a 30 day notice period.

Sorry was referring to the whole sky/virgin package not the sky sports which as you say is a 30 day min contract.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2017)
A report in 'Broadcast' suggests that Vice is seeking carriage on the Virgin Media platform.

It's not a good sign when a prospective channel is carrying video / audio "tests" across the network and is subsequently removed.
I'm not sure that seeking carriage on extra platforms is a good way of dealing with low audience figures. The probability is that audience figures would continue to be low, but with additional carriage costs. It might be better to concentrate on audience research and improving the audience figures before looking at expansion.

The answer really lies in the quality of the content. Produce rubbish, and you will get low audiences because the mass audience is more intelligent than that.
