It's up for a lot of Oscars including Best Director, Best Film and Best Actress. It's unlikely to win the first two (although it's currently my film of the year) but Brie Larson is favourite for Best Actress - deservingly so.
Also the writer is Irish. Not sure if you were joking there.

Star wars force awakens, hate to say it but I was a bit disappointed, pretty lazy story and as far as remakes, reboots or whatever goes I preferred creed

Bridge of Spies, a good 8/10
Has that typical 'Spielberg' American fare type of feeling to it which stood out a bit too much, it let it down a little. But a great story nonetheless.
Legend 8/10
Tom Hardy nailed it I must admit. But obviously it's all been done before with 'The Krays' (1990) so learnt nothing new. I think I do prefer the 1990 version slightly more though.

It's not supposed to be a remake but the next episode, instead we got a rehash of different bits from the previous 6 episodes mixed in with small very inaccurate snippets from some of the books..
I've been a Star wars fan since I saw Ep4 at the age of 8 but this is the first one to disappoint me.

Yes rehash is a better choice of word and the reason I'm disappointed is because I expected so much from it and imo it ended up being pretty average

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Spotlight - Very good. Could have been a TV drama in terms of how they made it as a film but it's still a compelling story and well-worth a watch. 8/10

Deadpool - 8/10
Very, very funny, very violent (it's a 15), and very enjoyable.
Kick-Ass meets X-Men meets Snatch.
Don't miss the opening credits or the "teaser" at the end of the film.

Barney Thomson 6/10 Tom Courtney is very funny.
The Revenant 7.5/10 (they could have made the bear more realistic)

Deadpool -9/10 fantastically amazing.
Really is everything I hoped for. The end credit scene was really cool.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Totally agree - the audience at the showing I was at laughed out loud en masse at a couple of the lines/scenes.
The opening credits are very amusing as well.
