Re: Do you remember Cell Block H.
I loved the original series. It was one of those so bad its worth watching.
IMO the new series is more of a remake or re-interpretation of the orginal series as it shares
a lot of the came character names.

It looks like it. I don't think there are enough bad and ugly actresses in Oz to make it an exact remake.

I know its not always the best place to confirm info but the Wiki page confirms what I already thought.

Wentworth is an Australian television drama series. It was first broadcast on SoHo on 1 May 2013. The series serves as a contemporary reimagining of Prisoner, which ran on Network Ten from 1979 to 1986. Lara Radulovich and David Hannam developed Wentworth from Reg Watson's original concept. The series is set in the modern day and centres on Bea Smith's (Danielle Cormack) early days in prison. Wentworth is filmed on a purpose built set in the suburb of Clayton. It has received a mostly positive reception from critics and the first episode became the most watched Australian drama series premiere in Foxtel history. The series was picked up by several countries, including New Zealand and the UK, where it is known as Wentworth Prison. The drama has been renewed for a second series.

Re: Do you remember Cell Block H.
Why did the Survivors (remake) series end so bad. I remember the first.

Because the second series was a dog's breakfast. Central characters blundering around, making very little progress and doing inexplicable things in order to create sudficient peril to push the plot forwards. It haemorrhaged viewers to the point where it was a fairly easy decision for the BBC not to commission a third series, even though the second one ended on a cliffhanger and the producers clearly thought they were going to get one.
