Re: Missiles stationed on residential roof for Olympics
He was the one who spoke to the press / was on the news - he was unhappy with the 'inconvenience'.....
What does he expect the Government to do in case of an attack - use harsh language?

Oh, the one stood there with his mate, who quite obviously didn't care less?

It'll be in the papers in the morning, a resident has found crates of missiles left unguarded in the bow tower, good job it's a gated community although the mod have said its ok as the missiles were dummies, as opposed to the troops that left them there unattended presumably.

Telegraph
Funnily enough, filmed by the resident who is objecting to them.....

Re: Missiles stationed on residential roof for Olympics
There is more than most people know about, going on to protect us from terrorists during (and after) the olympics.
These missiles are only the tip of the iceberg, believe me.

Re: Missiles stationed on residential roof for Olympics
Is this a weapon?
Quote:
The Ministry of Defence has confirmed a sonic device will be deployed in London during the Olympics.
The American-made Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) can be used to send verbal warnings over a long distance or emit a beam of pain-inducing tones.
|
Quote:
The company deny it is a weapon and say it can be used to "peacefully resolve uncertain situations"

Re: Missiles stationed on residential roof for Olympics
Given that Bin Laden decreed (before his unfortunate demise) that the UK wasn't worth the bother and the US was, it all seems to be overkill. That said though, I can't see any possible measures can absolutely safeguard the Olympics or anywhere else in this country for that matter.

Re: Missiles stationed on residential roof for Olympics
The 7/7 bombers were prior to Bin Laden's supposed directive. It's mainly supposition and guesswork based upon newspaper reports. I pray that nothing will happen and that no harm will come to anyone. I am not making light of the possibility of an attack.

Yes, we can't make light of it despite the fact that there's a very real limit to what we can do to stop home grown terrorists trying to kill innocent people in one way or another.
