Red face New TV & System / DVD

Hi Guys n Gals

My Dad is thinking of getting a New TV and new DVD Set up.

At the moment he is using a standard 4:3 Tv and a DVD recorder, he records a lot of programs so he's using a DVD recorder, but he does watch DVD's about 2 times a month.

I Suggested to him one of the new HD TV recorders instead, but am not sure of whats best or if they are any good.

As far as the TV is concerned I mentioned a HD 42", The one he wants is a 50" wall mountable but I don't think its that good.

Does anyone here have any ideas or suggestions on what would be a suitable set up for him using a base of £1200 ?

Re: New TV & System / DVD

What about a DVD recorder with built in HD of 160gb, these anygood? With Freeview.

Basically what he's bothered about is recording BBC1 on Terrestrial and watching a cable channel, he does this a lot, so would a DVD / HD Combo with freeview work for this?

Re: New TV & System / DVD

yes it would and i would recommend a sony or panasonic as they are more reliable and give you longer recording time on the hdd
