Exclamation Unable to access router. [Was: Can Anyone Help me?]

First of all I have windows Vista. I play Warcraft3. I'm trying to host games. I can host, I have already. My problem is evrytime my Ipv4 changes I cant host unless i get into my router. I've done this many times before. This morning in fact. Now when i type in my router addy in addy bar it puts http:// in front of it. I can not get into my router with the http in front of addy. It sends me to search engs. What is supposed to happen when i put my router Ip in is this. A window pops up asking me for user name and password. Yesterday I reset my router like always when my Ipv4 changes and i enter my Ip addy it came up just fine now it wont. i cant get into my router with the http:/ in front of the addy. How do i make it stop doing this? I'm trying to foward ports 6112-6119 so i can host games on Battle.net. I have cable ran to this pc and my other pc is downstairs it is on wireless. Is there some way i can bypass my router?

to the forums.

What make & model is your router & what is the IP address you're entering to access it?

I've edited the title of your thread to make it easier to tell what it's about.

Otherwise the original name coupled with your user name might give people the wrong idea...

Re: Unable to access router. [Was: Can Anyone Help me?]

Most routers are accessed via http , if though you wish to access a PC/router which doesn't use http then open up an file EXPLORER window (not internet explorer) and use that instead as it's only IE/firefox/other browsers that automatically put the HTTP in from of the address.

Sounds though more likely that on the reset your router changed to it's default IP (would probably be something like 192.168.0.1/192.168.1.1/10.1.1.1/10.0.0.1 but varies from router to router best to check your router documentation) hence when you try the router address your routers not there anymore and it defaults to trying to find the address on a search engine. Also remember that if your router has reset to a default your PC IP will need to be within the subnet to access it.
