Still, it doesn't look good, clever editing or not!

What about old Beckham, back in the fold again! Wonder if he is regretting going into semi retirement now, smacks of desperation from Mclaren to me

He is on fire at the minute. The game on Saturday was the David Beckham show everything Madrid did was round him.

I have nothing against him, in fact considering his global fame and vast wealth, he seem's like a thoroughly nice bloke but if things are so bad we have to bring him back to have a chance of beating Estonia yes those footballing giants of Estonia, we are in so much trouble

Re: Close Season Gossip & Rumour Thread
well i'm going to the friendly on Friday and i'm glad I will get to see him play again, i'm sure Real are regretting letting him go TBH. i think they played reyes alot instead but have now decided they don't want him. Milan were after Becks but he went to LA instead.
i've been reading that he can't really play in many England games though as the US league has games on that clash with the England games so bringing him back might not be the best move long term.

Don't forget about jetlag too - a 14 hour round trip isn't good to be good for the system.

apparently it takes one day to recover from each hour of time difference which means he would have to arrive a week early
still if he plays like he has for Real of late then i'm all for playing him

Can't international teams insist that players report up to a week early for matches? Seems to me the real issue here is whether he will still be capable of playing against top opposition whilst plying his trade in that league

In North America it's usually seen that your club takes priority.
For example a lot of top NHL players don't go to the Ice Hockey World Championships due to them still playing for their NHL team in the playoffs.

Re: Close Season Gossip & Rumour Thread
It looks like United might be after Huntelaar then....
Quote:
Manchester United are reportedly chasing Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
After sealing the deal to bring Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves to Old Trafford - a move that could be completed on Tuesday - United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has turned his attentions to bolstering his frontline.
The Manchester Evening News reports that Ferguson is keen on Spurs frontman Dimitar Berbatov, but the Bulgarian now looks set to stay at White Hart Lane.
The United boss will now concentrate his efforts on long-term target Huntelaar, who has scored a hugely impressive 60 goals in 74 appearances at the Amsterdam ArenA.
