My name as support
OK after ringing ntl today for downtime, I was told I could not get support because my parent had to be present, but they are at work, is it possible for me to get my name placed on the list as acceptable for direct support with out them being there?

Yep, Ring CS tommorow, and get them (Your parants) to confirm you as being able to access the account. They'll stick a note on your account, and you should be fine next time

Re: My name as support
to setup permission for other people to have access to the account, get your mum (or dad whoever is the account holder) to write to ntl giving you permission to access the account and make sure that you know the security word on it as well.
The data protection act binds ntl which is why they are careful about it... cannot give any information to anyone apart from the named account holder. Once they have permission in writing, the account holder can grant anyone they chose access to the account.

Is there not a lower age limit on who can call regarding an account? I.E. above 16.

*officially* written permission is required, in reality, over the phone is fine, but this can cause problems, because if it is given to c/s it might not appear on t/s's records and vice versa. If you are going to do it over the phone, ask that a note can be added to the SABS account and that should get you sorted!
And no... there isn't a lower age limit... i have spoken to a 7 year old before and with great success too
