Question BroadJump reporting Malfunctioning Network Adapters

Hi , good morning all,

When running BroadJump to gain connection to broadband the install reports that I have malfunctioning network adapters.

I'm running XP and these (4 of them) adapters appear to be the same USB 3COM WLAN adapter I completely uninstalled 6 months ago.

I go to device manager, list all hidden devices and they do not appear in the list any where. I guess there are still rogue entries in the Registry for this card.

Three things I really need to know:

a) is there anyway to force BroadJump to run regardless
b) is there anyway to safely remove these rogue Registry entries
c) can I register my MAC address and configure IE on the NTL service without running BroadJump?

I've got a STB.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Jimbo

You need to check the device manager in safe mode and remove the ofending entries from the network adaptor section of device manager.

HTH

A great big to the forum BTW...

Well, if I could get away without doing that it would be great.

Any instructions on how? I couldn't seem to get to the Reg site when I tried it last night after the failure with the BroadJump software.

You can use the registration page.

I forget what it is ATM - will post it for you...

You will only need the NTL disk for usb drivers - Though as anyone here will tell you - Avoid the usb like the plauge !!!

The Correct connect/BroadJump software kept crashing on my PC, so I removed it. As long as the Network card is in it "default" state, i.e. no IP address assigned, you should be able to let the PC get the IP address etc that it needs.

What you can do is specify your own DNS servers, I set 194.42.224.130 and 194.42.224.131, but thats the only settings.

The first time you try it may take a minute or so, but after that it's fine

It's okay as I'm not using that rubbish USB/Ethernet adapter.

I couldn't get to: https://autoreg.autoregister.net/start.html as described in the manual, although I've got a 10.xxx.xxx.xxx IP Address.......
