ntl box not working

hello all

my ntl digital box is not working it displayed tune on the box and said that the channels were being updated on the TV
this lasted for around 18 hours
now the box displays 88-88 and the 3 lights up the side are all on
the TV is black and blank

does anyone know how to resolve this i have tried to clean the card and have also turned it off for an hour and then back on but it stays the same
